Obituary for Eloisa Soto
Eloisa Soto, 82, of Haskell passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022 at her home, surrounded by family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2pm, Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at St. George Catholic Church with Rev. Alexander Amburose officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. A Rosary will be held 7pm, Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at St. George Catholic Church. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.
Eloisa was born September 2, 1939, in Mathis, Texas, the daughter of the late Timoteo Silba and Rosa Martinez Silba. On September 12, 1959, she married Joe Mary Soto at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Knox City. For over 30 years, she worked at Russell Newman as a seamstress and after her retirement, worked in home health for 10 years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, working puzzles and gardening. Eloisa was also a great cook and would often be found baking. She enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church, where she was an active member, a member of the Guadalupanas and helped with many of the church activities. Eloisa was a rock for her loved ones. Her unconditional love for her family and friends will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Soto on August 26, 1983; brother, Jessie Silba and 2 grandchildren.
Eloisa is survived by daughters, Deborah Acosta and husband Nicholas of Stamford; Cynthia Navarrette and husband Gilbert of Rule; Katherine Soto Navarrette of Rule; Carol Soto of Haskell; grandchildren, Nina Yanez, Eloisa Boyd, Tony Navarrette, Melanie Selman, Madalyn Navarrette, Abigail Ferrall, Joseph Navarrette, Andrew Navarrette, Sabrina Moya; 30 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings; Tony Silba and wife Annie of Little Rock, AR; Tina Johnson of Abilene; Rosa Rangel and husband Frank of Naperville, IL; Alejandra Garcia and husband Felipe of Haskell; Edward Silba and wife Jan of Santa Fe, NM; Carolina Abila of Abilene, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
