Juana Jane Smith, 83, of Haskell, passed away, Friday, August 4, 2017 in Haskell. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery with Bro. Tony Grand officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Monday, August 7, 2017 at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.
Jane was born September 7, 1933 in Haskell, Texas, the daughter of the late Pat Weaver and Myram Steward Weaver. On July 11, 1952, she married John H. Smith, Jr. She was a stay at home mom and sewed for the public for many years. In early years, Jane was active in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. She was a member of the Texas Extension Educators Association, where she was Woman of the Year, twice. Jane was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John H. Smith, Jr. on May 5, 1999 and infant sister.
Jane is survived by her sons, Jack Smith and wife Jean of Abilene; Danny Smith and wife Paula of Boyd; Darrell Smith and wife Kay of Haskell; daughter, Mindy Smith of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Jay Smith and wife Julia, Jennifer Brown and husband Keaton, Charlie Smith, Jeff Smith, Taylor Williams and wife Kayla, Ashley Williams, Matthew Smith, Micheal Smith, Sarah Kathrine Williams; great grandchildren, Brandon, Aubrey, Carlee, Hatleigh and a host of dear friends.
