Obituary for JoAnn Solomon
JoAnn Solomon, 80, of Abilene, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at her home. A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm, Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Rochester Cemetery. A visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.

JoAnn was born October 10, 1940 in Rochester, Texas, the daughter of the late Buster LeRoy Strickland and Susie Patterson Strickland. On April 27, 1958, she married J.C. Solomon at the Foursquare Church in Knox City. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Omitene Amonett and brother, LeRoy Strickland.

JoAnn is survived by her husband J.C. Solomon of Abilene; daughters, Devonna Neely and husband Byron; Fonda Gilliam and Billy Turner all of Abilene; 6 grandchildren, Stacy, Tiffany, Michelle, Brandon, Chanda, Meagan; 14 great, grandchildren, brothers, Phillip Strickland; Jerry Strickland, sister, Vickie Medford all of Haskell; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
