Bennie was born March 15, 1932 in Marshall, Texas to Homer James and Cassie Jane Rankin Collett. He was a Baptist. Bennie was a truck driver and built furniture ad he loved trading cars and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer James and Cassie Jane Collett.
Bennie is survived by his daughter, Brenda Bird of Aubrey, Texas; sons, Rickey Joe Collett of Whitesboro, Texas, Michael Richard Collett of Whitesboro, Texas, and Dennis Keith Collett of Kaufman, Texas; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
