IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR BELOVED HUSBAND, DAD, & PAWPAW

With hearts broken but comforted by our faith, we announce the passing Billy Dale Carroll. He passed away Friday, September 18, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Although the emptiness he leaves behind is impossible to put into words, we find peace in knowing that he is now home with the Lord. No more pain, no more sorrow, and no more suffering. We can only imagine the joy of the moment he heard those precious words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:21

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 61 years, Doris Briles Carroll, who loved him, stood beside him, and shared a lifetime of memories with him.

Psalms 147:3 “He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.”

He will forever be loved and missed by his children; Darlene and husband Kerry Therwhanger of Nacogdoches, TX; Dianne and husband Cayce Reed of Haskell, TX; Denise and husband David Conn of Stamford, TX; Doug and wife Samantha Carroll of Weinert, TX.

Hebrews 13:7 “Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives and follow the example of their faith.”

His grandchildren will forever carry a piece of him in their hearts; Dent Reed, Taylor Therwhanger, Dalinne Reed Wilson, Sabrina Self, Keira Therwhanger, Devery Reed, Emma Carroll, and Brooklyn Carroll and his precious Heavenly Angel, Amber Conn who will be there to greet him.

Deuteronomy 4:9 “But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.

Proverbs 17:6 “Grandchildren are the crowning glory of the aged; parents are the pride of their children.”

In keeping with Dale’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. We invite all who knew him to remember him in your own way and to carry forward the memories of the man, husband, father, PawPaw, friend, fisherman, and servant of God that he was.

Please keep Doris and our entire family in your prayers as we learn to live with this great loss.

Thank you for loving us.

Thank you for the memories.

Thank you for the lessons you taught us.

Thank you for being such an important part of each of our lives.

Our hearts ache because we love you so much. But we will choose to rejoice because we know this separation is only temporary. We will see you again. Until then, rest peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
