Carroll Wade Thompson, 87, of Temple, formerly of Haskell, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2025, surrounded by his family. A funeral service will be held 11:00am, Friday, January 2, 2026 at Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Fitchett officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. Carroll was born on March 13, 1938, in Knox City, Texas, the son of the late Clarise Bledsoe Thompson and Carroll Bernice Thompson. On December 25, 1957, he married Laura Belle Thompson in Haskell, Texas. Carroll was the owner and operator of Carroll’s Conoco, a full-service service station in Loveland, Colorado, where he faithfully served the community for 44 years. He was a devoted member of Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church, where he led the choir and served as a deacon. In his free time, Carroll enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and son, Chris Thompson.
Carroll is survived by his wife of almost 68 years, Laura Thompson of Temple, TX; children, Jody McGhghy and husband David of Temple, TX; Mike Thompson and wife Gail of Loveland, CO; Tony Thompson and wife Michelle of Philomath, OR; Bob Thompson of Orlando, FL; daughter-in-law, Sondra Thompson of Loveland, CO; 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a host of dear friends.
