Catherine Lee Biddle Pohl, 98, of Stamford, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Sunday, November 16, 2025, in Abilene at Hendrick Hospice.

Catherine was born on June 10, 1927, in Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of the late John Pierce Biddle and Clara Mae Higgins Biddle. She attended Texas Woman’s University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in education, a Master of Education, and a master’s in counseling. A dedicated educator, Catherine enjoyed a fulfilling career with Fort Worth ISD, touching countless lives for 30 years of service before retiring in 1999.

Catherine was a woman of deep curiosity and wide-ranging interests. An avid reader throughout her life, she maintained a passionate interest in politics, world religions, and philosophy. She found joy in the beauty around her through interior decorating, gardening, and camping—hobbies that allowed her to create warmth and beauty wherever she went.

Catherine was devoted to her family. She instilled in them her lifelong pursuit of learning and reading, and she served as their steadfast example of how to live with integrity, acceptance, humor, compassion, and strength. Her legacy is one of wisdom and love. Catherine was a member of the Lutheran faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Phillip Kent Pohl; grandchildren, Christopher Pohl, and Justin Pohl; and siblings, Johnny, Roger, Sadie, Martha, Ester, Ruth, Louise, and Elizabeth.

Catherine leaves daughter, Claudia “Jill” Pohl of Haskell; sons, Scott Pohl and wife Angel of Irving, Texas, Max Pohl and wife Cindy of Harvest, Alabama; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, nieces, nephews and dear friends who were blessed to know her.
