“Chrit” as most people knew her, was born January 22, 1951 to Thomas W. and Mary Brown Watson of Haskell. She graduated from Haskell High School in 1969.
She spent her life caring for others, whether it was family, friends or the numerous seniors throughout the Rolling Plains during her time as a Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN), most of which was spent at Rice Springs Care Home before retiring in 2013 from Stamford Healthcare. She dedicated her life to the wellbeing of others through her immense heart and compassion. Her biggest passion was the devotion to her Ya-Ya Girls, friends and family, particularly doting on her wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who returned in spades the love and passion for their Nana/Grana.
Christyne loved to crochet, especially baby blankets, as well as gardening, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, something she picked up, at least partially, from her father. She lived, loved and enjoyed life to the fullest. To know Christyne was to love Christyne. She was our Sunshine. Her love shone through every fiber of her being and every facet of her life. Her stories will live on through her family, and she had plenty of those. Her smile brightened the room. Her joy was infectious and when she laughed, we couldn't help but join right in with her.
Life according to Christyne: Don’t forget to curl your hair, never leave your house in pajamas, and if you find something you're good at, stick with it.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by one brother, Thomas Wells (Tommy) Watson Jr.
She is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Dawn Green of Abilene and Michelle René Green of Fort Worth; a sister, Elouise (Watson) Perry and husband John of Arlington, two brothers, Sam Hugh Watson and wife JoAnn of Haskell and George Brown Watson and wife Andrea of Lubbock; grandchildren T.J. Trevino, Dakota Silvas and wife Harley of Owasso, OK, Angelica Green and Alexis Bunch; great-grandchildren Jordison Trevino, Bella Esquivel, Rosaleigh Romero and Ruthie Silvas; nephews Chris Perry and wife Susie of St. Louis, Missouri, and Brent Watson and wife Erin of Haskell, and one niece, Jill Hammack and husband Chad of Cheyenne, Wyoming, many extended family and a host of dear friends.
The family asks that donations be made in Christyne’s name to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
