Danny Kay Edmond, 65, of Haskell, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022, in Haskell. A funeral service will be held 12:00pm, Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth Barnett. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, September 2, 2022 at Haskell Funeral Home. Condolences will be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.
Danny was born January 2, 1957, in Abilene, Texas, the son of the late Ernest Edmond and Annie White Edmond. He was a graduate of Abilene High. On June 19, 2011, he married Denise Johnson in Haskell, Texas. Danny served in the Marines for 3 years and was honorably discharged. He worked as assistant supervisor at the Majestic Care Center for several years, Danny served the Lord as Pastor at Greater Independent Baptist Church, Hopewell Baptist Church, Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hamlin and Morning Star in Abilene. Danny was a member of the gospel choir, "The Chosen". He served as a board member of Keep Haskell Beautiful, enjoyed singing, playing dominoes, and loved riding horses.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Billy Thomas; sisters, Mary Elizabeth Barnett and Alice Gobert.
Danny is survived by his wife, Denise Edmond of Haskell; children, Eric Edmond; Christopher Edmond; Jamiska Marion and husband Jesse; Jermaine Edmond; stepchildren, Randy "J.R." Diaz; Lesheika Diaz; Demarias Delce; Jamarian Delce; Alicia Goodwin; grandchildren, but treated as his own children: Shikaveia Rhodes, Breonna Ortiz, Trey Diaz, Monte Diaz, 15 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter; brother James Thomas; Patrick Edmond and a host of dear friends.
