Donall, known as Ricky to his family and Rick by his friends, was born March 17, 1957, in Bloomfield, Indiana, the son of Donall Richard Provines, Sr. and Doris S. Folsom Provines. He graduated from high school in Eunice, NM. After graduation, he joined the Army, serving for two years. Rick was the kind of person who could do just about anything. Over the years, he worked in the oilfield, helped on farms, cooked, drove trucks, did maintenance and construction and even spent time working with a circus. He wasn’t afraid to try new things, and his work took him all over the country. He had a spirit of adventure and a story for every stop along the way.
He had a big heart for animals, especially dogs. What people probably remember most about Rick was how easy he was to talk to. He never met a stranger. No matter where he was, he could strike up a conversation and make you feel like you’d known him forever. He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan and proudly wore his team gear to show his unwavering support. Music was another big part of his life. He played bass guitar and loved playing with his mom at church, her on the piano and him beside her, those were special moments for both.
He was preceded in death by his father and 2 nieces.
Rick is survived by his mother, Doris Provines of Haskell; sisters, Donna Coombes of Indiana, Susan Skinner and Darla Mengwasser, both of Haskell; uncle, Wib Provines and wife June of Southern Indiana, uncle, Larry Provines and wife Patty and aunt, Lillie Crock and husband Bob, all of Vincennes, IN; 7 nieces and nephews, 15 great nieces and nephews, and a host of dear friends.
