Donna Gay Freeman, 72, of Stamford, Texas passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. A Memorial Service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, June 11, 2016 at New Creation Church 203 Central Avenue, Elgin, Texas. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.
Donna was born June 20, 1943, in Leuders, Texas, the daughter of John Monroe Dodgen and Margaret Elizabeth Petty. Prior to moving to Stamford she attended the New Creation Church in Elgin, Texas, where she was an active member. While living in Stamford she attended Haskell Foursquare Church in Haskell, Texas. She loved baking, cooking and reading. Donna also had a love for animals, college football, and westerns, especially with John Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret, and siblings Johnny Seigfred, Sam Dodgen, Sylvia Jordan, and Martha Jordan.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Shara Reese of Elgin, Texas; son, Kyle Freeman of Stephenville, Texas; grandchildren, Codey Bryan and wife Terri of Weatherford, Alaina Robertson and husband William of Wylie, Michael Drummonds and wife Amber of Katy and Joshua Freeman and wife Olga of Stephenville; great-grandchildren, Alaina, Allen, Aiden, Autumn, Porter, Nathan, and Mikaela. She is also survived by siblings, Anna Glass of Stamford, Leonard Dodgen of Hawley, Sue Penny of Wisconsin, Millicent Buntin of Lexington and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
