Gary Don Long

Gary Don Long, 70, of Haskell, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025 at his home. A graveside service will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Willow Cemetery with his nephew, John Beasley officiating under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. Gary was born on December 14, 1954, in Lovington, New Mexico, the son of the late John J. Long and Pauline Dennis Long. He graduated from Lovington High School and went on to proudly serve two terms in the United States Navy. Earlier in life, Gary enjoyed gardening and round dancing and was known for his creativity and resourcefulness. He worked as a welder in the oil fields of Midland and later in Anson, where he welded trailers. A devoted son, Gary lovingly cared for both of his parents until their passing. He was a man of faith and a firm believer in God.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Gary is survived by his sons, Jacob M. Long; Lucas R. Long; brother, Larry John Long of McKinney, TX; sister, Sue Langley of Boerne, TX; niece, nephews, extended family and a host of dear friends.
