Greggory Wayne Pierce, 51, of Haskell, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2017 in Haskell. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Glass officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D, Haskell. Gregg was born December 24, 1965 in Covina, California, the son to David Wayne Pierce and Joan Ruth Smotherman Pierce. On November 25, 2006, he married Gena Kathryn Modesti in Las Vegas, NV. In December of 2006, Gregg and Gena made Haskell their home. Gregg first worked at Modern Way for 4 years as an Assistant Manager, 3 years at Stripes as a Store Manager, 3 years at Dollar General as a Store Manager, and Spring Market as an Operations Manager. During this time, he also worked as a Relief Rural Carrier for USPS. He was a member of the Haskell Foursquare Church. Gregg enjoyed reading, watching sports, playing games and trivia. He was very competitive and didn't like to lose. Gregg also enjoyed traveling, only by car, never by plane.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother, Joan Ruth Collins; aunt, Patty Smotherman and cousin, Pam Smotherman.
Gregg is survived by the love of his life, Gena Pierce of Haskell; daughters, Denise Thompson and husband, Chase of Canyon; Lisa Piper and husband, Harlan of Tenino, WA; father, David Pierce and wife Frances of Ontario, CA; sisters, Lara Pierce and fiancé Greig Smith of Australia; Kristin Pierce and fiancé Mike of Long Beach, CA; Erin Schlanger and husband Tommy of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; nephew, Noah Schlanger and nieces Natalie and Charlotte Schlanger, and a host of dear friends.
