Henny was born on May 4th, 1946, in Ludwigsburg, Germany. She was lovingly raised from birth by her Oma and Opa until she was 10 years old. She then lived with her parents and sisters in France for two years before coming to the United States in 1958.
Henny spoke German, French, and English. She dedicated many years to her family as a homemaker before becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. Caring for others was the heart of who she was. She fiercely loved and protected her children and devoted herself to caring for the sick and elderly through nursing homes and home health care.
Anyone who knew Henny knew her love for gardening. She had an amazing green thumb and found joy in growing fruits, vegetables, houseplants, and all kinds of flowers. She loved caring for plants of every type. Henny also had a special love for animals. Caring for her pets was another expression of her compassionate spirit. She always made sure her pets were well cared for, and some of her favorite television shows were about rescuing and caring for the sick or abandoned animals.
Above all else, Henny loved deeply because she loved Jesus. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she taught her children to love God above all things. She was a Christian first and foremost, and we all know that she is now with Jesus Christ, her Savior.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Rosa and Hans Braune; her parents, Hannelore “Ann” and Richard Robert Rice; her daughter, Constance “Connie” Reid; her grandson, Ethan Reid; great-grand son, Ezekiel Reid; and her son-in-law, Ernie Duff.
Henny is survived by her husband, Ronald Stanford of Haskell; her daughters, June Duff of Haskell, Tina (Billy) Enriquez of Abilene; her sons, Joshua (Cary) Reid of Mckinney, Jeremiah (Malinda) Reid of Haskell, Erich (Kim) Reid of Haskell, and Brandan Reid of Iowa Park; stepdaughter Alisha (Billy) Westbrook of Abilene, and stepson Terry (Donelle) Stanford of Hawley; a special great-granddaughter, Chloe Garcia of Abilene; her sisters, Shirley (Dana) Lord of Colorado, and Lori (Norman) May of New York; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; extended family and a host of dear friends. She loved and cherished them all.
Henny will be deeply missed and cherished by all who knew and loved her. The family is so grateful for the many ways she loved, cared for and blessed their lives.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Kinder Hearts Hospice and Hendrick Hospice for the love and care provided for their precious mom.
