Jake Christopher Dusak, Jr, 75, of Haskell, passed away April 19, 2026 in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service will be held 11:00am, Sunday May 10, 2026 at the Bolivar Cemetery in Sanger, Texas. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.
Jake was born December 15, 1950 to the late Jake Christopher Dusak, Sr and Sarah Agnes “Pat” Fairchild Dusak. Jake spent his childhood living in Texas, Louisiana, and the South. He graduated from Smackover High School in Smackover, Arkansas in 1970 and attended North Texas State University. He settled in Haskell, Texas in 1972.
Jake was a member of the Haskell County Jaycees and the Local 178 Operating Engineers Union. He loved country music, going to the rodeo, watching soap operas, deer hunting and crafting.
To know Jake was to love him. He lived and loved every day and helped in any way possible. He was a wonderful, fun-loving, and giving person who cherished life and remained strong in spirit even in the face of adversity.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Jeff Converse; and brothers-in-law, Wayne Converse, John Ledbetter, and Wayne Campbell.
Jake is survived by his sisters, Margie Ledbetter of Sanger, Texas and Nina Campbell of Woodward, Oklahoma; nieces, Jennifer Stong and husband Donald of Woodward, Oklahoma, Sarah Ledbetter and husband Steve Giovanni of Flower Mound, Texas, Kamey McEwan and husband Steve of Sanger, Texas, and Janie Sons and husband Mike, of Sanger, Texas; great nieces and nephews, extended family and a host of dear friends.
