Jamie Lawson Mickler

Jamie Lawson Mickler, 63, of Haskell, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2021, in Abilene. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Paint Creek Baptist Church with Monty Williams, Jamie's cousin, and Doctor Mark Rodgers, brother-in-law, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home; 2 Avenue D. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.
Jamie was born February 8, 1958, in Stamford, TX, the son of Shirley Griffin Mickler and Twain Mickler. He graduated from Haskell High School in 1976 and later graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1982. On August 16, 1986, he married Marsha Rodgers in Dumas, Texas. He was actively a member of the Paint Creek school board and founder of the Haskell Hunting Club. Jamie was an avid Texas Tech fan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; and was passionate about making sure the deer feeders and blinds were always perfect, for his family and friends to hunt. Jamie's greatest joy was entertaining people, always cooking, grilling, and making sure everyone had more than enough to eat. He liked landscaping and woodworking; often building furniture for the house.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Mickler.
Jamie is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marsha Mickler of Haskell; daughters, Meredith Mickler of Midland; Jayma Mickler of Dallas; sons, Lawson Mickler and wife Laura of Austin; Hall Chapman of Dallas; father, Twain Mickler of Haskell; sister, Debbie Miller of Haskell; brother-in-law, Mark Rodgers and wife Stacey of Arlington; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of dear friends.
