Maria Macias Enriquez, 96, lifelong resident of Haskell, passed away, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am, Saturday, May 4, 2024 at St George Catholic Church with Rev. Albert Devanesan officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. A Rosary will be held 6pm, Friday, May 3, 2024 at St George Catholic Church. Maria was born July 27, 1927, in Sagerton, Texas, the daughter of the late Juan Macias and Amada Pardo Macias. On June 11, 1945, she married Bruce (Cruz) Enriquez. She was a housewife and loved taking care of her grandkids. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, riding her exercise bike, and dancing and listening to Tejano music. She was an active member of the St. George Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Guadalupanas and helped with many of the church activities including Cursillos.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce (Cruz) Enriquez on June 17, 1994; daughter, Dianne Lerma; sisters, Benita Barrientos, Martina Salinas, Andrea Kittley, Constancia Crispin, Josephine Sainze and brother, Catarino Macias.
Maria is survived by her children, Domingo Enriquez (Beatrice) of Mineral Wells, TX, Manuel Enriquez (Delores) of Mineral Wells, TX, Matilde Lopez (Ponciano) of Haskell, TX, Minnie Camacho (Jose) of Haskell, TX, Lucha Gonzales (Robert) of Medford, OK, Bruce Enriquez Jr (Yvette) of Hickory Creek, TX, Francisco Enriquez (Delia) of Seguin, TX, Alberto Enriquez (Elida) of Haskell, TX, Maria Guadalupe Herrera (Ramon Jr) of Wellington, TX, Johney Ray Enriquez (Lilia) of Lubbock, TX, Louis Enriquez (Bette) of Haskell, TX; son-in-law, Ray Lerma of Knox City, TX; 39 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends.
