Rochester

Marilyn Evaleen Moyer Bailey, 79, of Rochester, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.

Marilyn was born July 3, 1945, in Auburn, Washington, the daughter of Hugh and Hazel Noreen (Pierce) Moyer. While living in Palm Springs, California, Marilyn owned and operated Marilyn Korte Spa Service, a business she poured her heart and soul into for over 20 years. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Franklin Warden Bailey, Jr. The two were united in marriage on September 9, 1995, in Niland, California. Together, they shared a beautiful life, filled with love, adventure, and laughter. Marilyn was an active member of the Tiempo De Los Ninos Board, where she worked tirelessly to raise funds for the Pediatric Wing of Palm Springs Hospital.

In 2020, Marilyn and Frank moved to Rochester, where they continued to enjoy life surrounded by their new community. She was an active member of the Rule Baptist Church, Noah Project in Haskell, Sagerton Hobby Club and the Brazos Valley Quilt Guild, where she devoted countless hours making quilts and beanie hats to donate to those in need. Her hands crafted more than just fabric— they created comfort, warmth, and connection for many in her community.

Marilyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in spending time with her dear friends, the Monday Morning Coffee Ladies at the Yellow Rose in Rochester. These gatherings were a source of laughter and camaraderie that Marilyn cherished deeply. She also had a love for traveling and camping, always eager to explore new places and share those experiences with family and friends.

One of Marilyn’s fondest memories was roasting marshmallows around a campfire, a joy she shared with her beloved granddaughters. To commemorate this, they lovingly gifted her a “Professional Marshmallow Toaster” mug, a keepsake she treasured.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Brucine Wittler, Goldie Clemens and Barbara Jackson.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Frank Bailey; sons, Curt Korte and Tanya of Indio, CA and Clint Korte and Aidee of Desert Hot Springs, CA; granddaughters Emma and Molly Korte, as well as numerous extended family and a host of dear friends.

Memorials may be made to Sagerton Hobby Club Scholarship Fund: In Memory of Marilyn Bailey 1378 State Hwy 6 South, Rule, Texas 79547.
