Mary Ann Gillispie

Mary Ann Gillispie, 84, of Haskell, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026 in Haskell. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.

Mary was born on June 3, 1941 in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of the late Everett William Barr, Sr and Erma Francis Bradshaw. In 2004, she married Dennis Gillispie in Quitman, Texas who preceded her in death on March 24, 2022.

She dedicated over twenty years of service as an accountant at Kent’s Harley-Davidson in Abilene. Beyond her career, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life including gardening, sewing, and practicing target shooting. She was especially fond of birds and had a treasured collection of bird plates, each one reflecting her appreciation for their beauty. Above all, she loved and cherished her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Everett William “E. W.” Barr, Jr; son, Joseph Merlin Rhodes, Jr; and grandson, David Townsend Jr.

Mary is survived by her children: son, William “Willie” Rhodes and wife, Jina of Rule, TX and daughter, Christiana Fleming and husband, Brad of Cisco, TX; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; extended family and a host of dear friends.
