Robert Dewayne Felty, 68, of Haskell, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.

Dewayne was born on January 15, 1957, in Coleman, TX, the son of the late Thomas Nugent Felty and Vera Little Felty. On June 30, 1978, he married the love of his life, Jonita Wood, in Coleman, TX.

Dewayne spent much of his life working as both a farmer and a mechanic—professions that reflected his strong work ethic, practical wisdom, and dedication to supporting his family. He lived his life grounded in faith and kindness and was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Baptist Church.

In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, working with his hands through carpentry, staying up to date with the latest technology, and listening to a wide range of music. Whether he was tinkering with a new device or sharing stories over a glass of water (his beverage of choice), Dewayne brought wisdom, curiosity, and humor to every conversation. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Irene “Sis” Bagley; and his brothers, Walter “Fuzzy” Felty and Cecil Felty.

Dewayne was a devoted husband, Dad and Pawpaw. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jonita Wood Felty of Haskell; his three beautiful children, Alyson Charisse Bennett and husband Glenn of Belton, Joseph Delaney Felty of Haskell, and Shayla Dawn Clifton and husband Cason of College Station; and his cherished grandchildren, Hayden Osbourne Bennett and wife Kaysi, Veda Grace Bennett, and Thomas Garrett Felty. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Dean of Coleman; four grand-dogs; several grand-cats; extended family; and a host of dear friends.
