Loyd Ross Kent
March 19, 1940 ~ July 5, 2023 (age 83) 83 Years Old
Loyd “Ross” Kent, 83, of Haskell, formerly of Denton Valley, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at his home. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, July 8th at the Denton Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Joel Tobey officiating. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Kendrick Cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. Ross was born March 19, 1940, in Baird, Texas, the son of the late E.T. Kent and Julia (Poindexter) Kent. He lived in the Denton Valley area his entire life & regularly attended the Denton Valley Baptist Church. He worked at the ACCO Feed Mill for many years and later retired from Jackson Bros Feed & Seed in Abilene.
Ross loved the Lord, music, and being with his friends and family. Being outdoors was a favorite place for Ross to be and he enjoyed working with cattle. If you didn’t know Ross you missed out on being greeted with his big smile, sparkling blue eyes, and his kind, gentle heart. Ross was an honorable man and will forever be in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Ross is survived by Alice and Don Ballard of Haskell; Mindy Ballard of Abilene; Chad Ballard of Henderson, NV; Janice Courtney of Midland; Selma Adams of Albuquerque; Pam Baker of Glenrose; Paula Baugus of Abilene; numerous cousins and a host of dear friends.
Pallbearers are Wille Carrigan, Mike Carrigan, Kevin Burton, Dillon Burton, Ken Draper, and Jay Hayhurst.
