Sally Ann Koch Payne, 59, of Haskell, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Haskell Health Care Center. A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00pm, at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D, Haskell, Texas. A funeral service will be held 10:30am, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Haskell, Texas with Bro. Ollie Pierson and Rev. Curtis Payne officiating. A funeral service will be held in her hometown, 10:30am, Friday, October 2, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Darrouzett, Texas with Pastor Carol Weist officiating. Burial will follow in Darrouzett Cemetery under the direction of Schilling Funeral Home, Follett, Texas.
Sally was born August 16, 1956 in Perryton, Texas, the daughter of Salamo and Virginia Janzen Koch. While in Haskell, Sally has worked as a bookkeeper for HTS Services. She and her fiancé, Claude, also owned and operated KP's grill for 5 years. Sally is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Darrouzett. While in Haskell, she attended First Baptist Church, where Claude is a member. She was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary Post 635 in Darrouzett for several years. Sally loved camping, crocheting and sewing.
She was preceded in death by her father, Salamo Koch.
Sally is survived by her mother, Virginia Koch of Darrouzett, Texas; son, Joshua Brian Burke of Denver, Colorado; fiancé, Claude Payne of Haskell, Texas; 4 step-children and their families, Jana Diane Matic of Austin, Texas; Claudia Kay Mattox of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Johanna Lee Payne of Lubbock, Texas; Mitchel Claude Payne of Lubbock, Texas; and aunts, Norma Day of Denver, Colorado; Betty Janzen of Beaver, Oklahoma and Mary Janzen of Perryton, Texas. She is also survived by many extended relatives and a host of dear friends.
