Obituary for Joetta Irene McFadin Burnett
Joetta Irene McFadin Burnett went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 24, 2021 at the age of 88 years old. She was born in Haskell County, November 8, 1933 to John Penn (JP) & Beulah Force McFadin. She married Charles Ray Burnett November 1964, and resided in Haskell County from 1975 to current. She retired from the Haskell County Texas Agrilife Extension Office in December of 1992 after 12 years of service as an Agent secretary. She loved to sew, and sewed for the public for many years and taught young 4-H’ers how to sew. She served on the Haskell County Family and Community Organization for over 18 years, and was named Club Woman of the Year 1997-98.
Joetta (aka Granny Jo) was her children’s number one fan in all the events they chose to do, and loved spending time with all her grandchildren, and extended family. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and sang in the church choir, and later attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Ray Burnett of Haskell, son, Tim Lacey and wife, Kim of Amarillo, Daughter-in-Law, Amy Lacey of Montgomery, son, Ray Burnett and wife Terri of Pilot Point, daughter, Tamra Lewis and husband Andre’ from Clyde, TX. Granddaughters, Danielle Murdock and husband, Darren of Magnolia, Megan Castillo and husband, Kris of Hempstead, Tara Guthrie and husband Chase of Fredericksburg, Teresa Lacey-Baccus and husband, Keith of Abilene, Shelby Halter and husband, Justin of Bridgeport, and grandson Brayden Lacey and wife, Tristan of Fredericksburg. She loved her extended grandchildren, Ashley Herrington, Preston Herrington, Andrea Lavy, Kristi Barr, Cal Lewis, Stephanie and Derrick Ramos. Charles and Joetta have 7 great-granddaughters, Jocelyn, Madelyn, Katelyn, Layla, Evey, Lacey, and Swayde, and 5 great-grandsons, Josh, Gavin, Everett, Kris Jr., and Lee and many extended family members.
Joetta is preceded in death by her parents, John Penn (JP) and Beulah McFadin, son, Randell Lacey, and sister-n-law, Dolores Foster.
Services will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Haskell, TX on December 28, 2021 at 11 a.m. after visitation at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Roberts Cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests to make donations to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer’s Foundation in Abilene, TX.
