Obituary for Alma Lou Solomon
Alma Lou Solomon, 88, of Haskell, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022 in Haskell. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00pm, Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the First Assembly of God with Mark Greenroy, son-in-law and Bro. Carl Amburn officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00pm-2:00pm at the church. Alma was born May 30, 1933 in Ranger, TX, the daughter of the late J.L. Reid and Irene Brown Reid. On July 16, 1950, she married Travis Solomon, Jr., at the First Assembly of God, Haskell. She worked as an LVN at Haskell Memorial Hospital for 50+ years, retiring in 2009. Alma enjoyed shopping, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of the First Assembly of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Travis Solomon, March 2014; sisters, Donnalene and Charlene and brother, Johnny.
Alma is survived by her daughters, Judy Callaway and husband Hollis of Haskell; Becky Howeth and husband Bobby of Haskell; Leisha Greenroy and husband Mark of Burleson; grandchildren, Cole Callaway and wife Sheri of Pawnee, OK; Andrea Mao and husband Chanda of Benbrook; Rusty Howeth of Texarkana, AR; Bucky Howeth and wife Courtney of New Braunfels; Promise Greenroy of Burleson; Tanner Greenroy of Waxahachie; great-grandchildren, Emeri, Allie, Tyler, Enzo and Emet. She is also survived by sisters, Gracie Griffis of Lubbock; Janice Tittle and husband Roger of Abilene; Linda Davison and husband Frank of Abilene; sister-in-law, Veta Reid of Dallas; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends.
