Obituary for Mary Wynelle "Nelle" Amburn
Mary Wynelle (King) Amburn, 86 of Haskell, TX passed away on January 13, 2022 at her daughter’s home in Rio Vista, TX surrounded by her family.

Nelle was born on June 14, 1935, in Jacksboro, TX to Marvin and Elizabeth (Calhoun) King. She grew up there and graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1953. At an early age, she taught herself to play her grandmother’s pump organ. This organ is in her house, and she could still play it as recently as 3 weeks ago. Raised in a Christian home she attended the First Assembly of God and was very young when she accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. Nelle worked at the Abstract Office until she married Johnnie Curtis (J.C.) Amburn on October 18, 1953. Over the years, she has faithfully served God in many capacities. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother and will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Nelle was preceded in death by her parents, brother, husband, and granddaughter. She is survived by daughter Olivia (Jonathan) Suckow of Rio Vista, TX; daughter Brenda (Marty) Bowden of Pickton, TX; son Curtis Noel (Kary) Amburn of Coeur D’ Alene, ID; grandchildren Kelly (Tom) Nunley of Kettering, OH; Cody Bryan of Rio Vista, TX; Adam and Evan Bowden of Commerce, TX; Sarah (Chris) Peters of Hayden, ID; Tim (Akane) Amburn of Bedford, TX; Brittany (Andrew) Rima of Coeur d’Alene, ID; great grandchildren, Cassidy and Briella Peters of Hayden, ID; Hinata and Kota Amburn of Bedford, TX and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 17, 2022 at Haskell Assembly of God, 1500 N. Ave. E, Haskell, TX. Visitation will be held at 9:30-10:30 am, January 17, 2022, at the church. Interment will follow the service at Haskell Cemetery, Haskell, TX. Memorial contributions may be made to Haskell Assembly of God Missions, if desired.
