Obituary for Shirley Ann Helms
Shirley Ann Helms, 71, of Rule, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 in Abilene. A funeral service will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, October 24, 2020 at First Baptist Church, Rule, Texas with Brother Jose Muniz officiating. Burial will follow in Rule Cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home. A visitation will be held 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, October 23, 2020 at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D. Shirley was born September 23, 1949 in Haskell, Texas the daughter of the late Ray Bryan and Betty Ann Healer. For 42 years, she was married to the love of her life, Odis Charles Helms, who preceded her in death. She was a life-long restaurant owner. Shirley enjoyed going to the lake, fishing and boating. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Charles Ray Bryan.

Shirley is survived by children, LeeAnn Hammit and husband James of Abilene; Gregory James Helms of Lubbock; Melissa Jo Webb and husband Jeff of Azle; Kimberly Sue Butson and husband Joseph of Abilene; Odis Charles Helms, Jr. and wife Tammy of Abilene; Odis Roy Layne Helms of Abilene; 13 grandchildren, 14 great, grandchildren, sisters, Betty Kay Ray of Plainview, Martha June Greenwood of Odessa, numerous love nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
