Obituary for Verdea "Vivian" "Sister" Ashley
Verdea Mae “Vivian” “Sister” Ashley, 92, of Rule, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2018 in Haskell. A Funeral Service will be 10:00am, Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Faith Chapel Church with Bro. Randy Hollingsworth officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00am-10:00am prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Rochester Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm, at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Ave D. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com.
Vivian was born December 13, 1925 in Judd, TX, the second of ten children, to Authur Dee Hollingsworth and Ethel Estell Hawley Hollingsworth. On November 11, 1944, she married Frank H. Ashley. She enjoyed golfing and bowling. Vivian was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Bruce Alan Ashley and five siblings.
Vivian is survived by sons, Dennis Ashley of Rule, TX; Danny Ashley of Haskell, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer Ashley; Ryan Ashley; Miranda Ashley and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother David Hollingsworth of Oklahoma; sisters, Etta Mae Brazell of San Antonio; Dorothy Carmack of Rochester; Jessie Tuttle of Lubbock, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
