Obituary for Betty Sue Campbell Lacey
Betty Sue Campbell Lacey, of Odessa, Tx, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2019 at East Side Baptist Church with Bro.Tony Grand officiating and Robert Starr assisting. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6-8 pm Saturday, January 12 at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D, Haskell, Texas. Betty Sue was born August 15, 1941 in Burkett, Texas, the daughter of the late John Breckinridge Campbell and Florence Pearl Moore Campbell. On May 9, 1964, she married Herman L. Lacey in Waurika, Oklahoma, he died September 4, 1982.
She was a member of the Baptist church. She had been cooking since she was 16 years-old.
She always enjoyed cooking and worked in many restaurants such as Elsie’s Hi-lander (which she eventually bought), Kountry Kookin, and Hatahoe.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son, Ricky Campbell, and five siblings, John C. Campbell, Mildred Louis Rawls, Charles Lewis Campbell, Carl Pierce Campbell, Billy Joe Campbell.
Betty Sue is survived by her sons, Rodney Dale Lacey of Stamford, TX; Johnny Lee Lacey and wife Deborah of Odessa, TX, Lewis Don Lacey and Joann, of Odessa, TX, and daughter, Tina Marie Lacey of Clarendon, TX. Grandchildren are Michael Lacey, Lewis Lacey, Melissa Absher, Anthony Calhoun, Seth Hedgpeth, Caleb Lacey, Blake Billington, and Lucas Lacey. Great grandchildren are Thomas, Alexis, Kason, Keeton, Kollin, Korbin, Kutter, Ashton, Austin, Katie, Joshua, and Leland. She is also survived by sisters, Billie Ruth Alston of Tyler, TX; Virginia Faye Cruger of Odessa, TX; brothers, Kenneth Edwin Campbell and wife Elaine of Haskell, TX; Jerry Wayne Campbell and wife Carolyn of Odessa, TX; sister-in-law, Elizire Campbell of Odessa, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
