Obituary for Dan "Danny" Franklin Anderson
Dan “Danny” Franklin Anderson, 72, of Haskell, passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 23, 2018 at his home. A graveside service will be held 2:00pm, Monday, September 24, 2018 at Rule Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held 3:00pm, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Primitive Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D, Haskell. Danny was born March 29, 1946 in Haskell, Texas, the son of the late Agnes Reed Anderson and Dan Anderson. On June 10, 1980, he married Ruby Juanita Cook. After graduating high school, he took some mechanic classes and college courses in child care. He worked as a farmer, tool pusher and he later worked at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, Girls Town, where he and Juanita were house parents. After moving back to Rule, he worked at Sorrells Service station. He was a member of Primitive Baptist Church, were he was also an ordained deacon. Danny enjoyed visiting on Facebook and keeping in touch with the many kids he helped during his time at Girls Town. He enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, and raising his two grandchildren Christina and Timothy Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and sisters.
Danny is survived by his wife Ruby Juanita Anderson of Haskell; 3 children, Linda Jameson of Rule, TX; Amanda Anderson and husband Alan of Rule, TX; Bobby Hunt of Ponca City, Ok; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sister, Anita Yarbrough of Cordova, AK; Brothers, Calvin Anderson of Lubbock, James Anderson of Alvarado, TX, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
