Obituary for Johnnie Curtis "J.C." Amburn
J. C. (Johnnie Curtis) Amburn, 82, of Haskell, TX, passed away December 17, 2017, at home surrounded by his family.
Bro. Amburn was born to Truman and Maudine (Pate) Amburn on March 28, 1935, in Perrin, TX where he grew up and attended school. He was a man who always provided for his family, working many long hours to do so, and still ministered not only to the church people but to the whole community and anyone in need. He was a very giving, compassionate man with a sole purpose of helping everyone he knew come to know Christ as their Savior and share eternity with him in Heaven.
He married Mary Wynelle King on October 18, 1953, in Jacksboro, TX. Two years later, Bro. Amburn surrendered to the call of God to be a full-time minister at the age of 20 and soon became an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God. For the next 60 years, he and Nelle served as pastors in Graford, Winters, Hamlin, Squaw Mountain, Granbury, Littlefield, and Haskell, TX until the day of his death. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
