Obituary for Margaret Williams Duffie
Margaret D. Duffie, 96, of Haskell, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at a local hospital. A Home Going Celebration will be held 1:00pm, Wednesday December 2, 2015 at Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Danny K. Edmond officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery, Haskell, TX, under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D, Haskell, Texas. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Haskell Funeral Home.
Allen and Nathaniel Stubblefield Williams were the recipients of a blessing, a baby girl, born September 28, 1919. They named her Margaret Dell. Tender memories of her words and her deeds will give us the strength and courage in our time of sorrow, for “Margaret” was one of life’s finer treasures. A very special lady. She was born in Hempstead, Wallar County, Texas. She was educated in Hempstead ISD and Granger ISD. She earned a degree in Beauty College in Fort Worth, Texas. A long-time resident of Haskell, Texas, she was under Christian Discipline at Hopewell Baptist Church. She went home to be with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 54 years Leroy Duffie and sister.
Forever cherishing her memories are her daughter Karen Johnson and husband L.C. of Haskell; 3 grandchildren, Denise Edmond and husband Rev. Danny Edmond of Haskell, TX; Rodney B. Johnson and wife Mary L. of Springtown, TX; Marcus Johnson and Misty Rodela of Haskell, TX; 12 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren; cousin, Tricia Franklin, numerous niece, nephews, cousins, dear friends and The Hopewell Baptist Church family.
