Obituary for Ruthie Mae Randle
Ruthie Mae Randle, 87, passed away peacefully in Abilene, Texas. A celebration of her life will be held 10:00am, Friday, March 24, 2017 at Greater Independent Baptist Church, Haskell, TX, with Rev. Ollie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Howard Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D, Haskell, TX. Ruthie was born October 29, 1929, Tipton, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Charles Ray and Estella Applewhite Ray. In 1934, her family and she moved to Haskell, when Ruthie was 5 years old. In 1954, she married Martin Randle, Sr, who passed away March 1, 1984. She attended Haskell schools, and completed a year and a half, Biblical Correspondence course through the Church of Christ. Ruthie worked as a domestic engineer for Doyle High, Susie Porter, Louetta Wallace and the Earles family for over 40 years. Ruthie became part of their families during this time. Ruthie enjoyed reading, antique collecting, gardening, cooking and fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Martin Randle, Sr., son, James C. Ray; aunt, Retha Hammon; sisters, Gladyas Whitaker, Henrietta Ray, Wilma Clark; brothers, Robert Ray, Genie Ray, and James A. Ray.

Ruthie is survived by children, Martin Randle, Jr. of Haskell, TX, Jeanett LeDay of Ville Platte, LA, Anthony Randle of Abilene, TX, Jeffery Randle of Haskell, TX, Sheila Randle of Haskell, TX, Tamala Williams of Ville Platte, LA, Dale Randle of Dallas, TX, Sandra Randle of Arlington, TX, Barbara Smith of Arlington, TX; 26 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, siblings, Wayne Thompson of Stamford, TX, Zepherine “Prissy” Thompson of Commerce, TX, Hershel Thompson and wife Dora of Teague, TX, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
