Obituary for Lois Helen Dippel Grandy
Lois Helen Dippel Grandy, 86, of Wichita Falls, formerly of Haskell, Texas passed away Monday, June 27, 2016. A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 7590 US-380, Haskell, TX, with Vicar Jeremiah T. Heydt officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Cemetery under the direction of Haskell Funeral Home. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Haskell Funeral Home, 2 Avenue D, Haskell, Texas 79521. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00am, Friday, July 1, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3505 Kemp Blvd., Wichita Falls, TX 76308. Condolences may be made at www.haskellfuneralhometx.com
Lois was born in Old Glory, Texas to Henry and Lena (Spitzer) Dippel on August 13, 1929. She was the second of eight children. Lois was a Registered Nurse and retired from the Wichita Falls State Hospital in 1993. Lois graduated from Mattson Community High School in 1946 and later went to Memorial Hospital’s School of Nursing in Lubbock, Texas. There she met and married Leon Henry Grandy (USAFRet) on December 9, 1950. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and step father, Martin Rueffer, husband Leon, brother Raymond Dippel, sister Gay Nell Helweg, and sister Ellien Rueffer Lindsay-Goff. She is survived by her sister Lena Mae Alvis, brother Martin Rueffer, sister Dorothea Monroe, brother Dennis Rueffer, son Richard Grandy, daughter Mary Grandy Baker, daughter Lorrie Grandy Kitchens and husband Todd, and son Charles Grandy and wife Lisa, sister-in-law Ronnie Spencer Wold, sister-in-law Sue Grandy, 8 grandchildren ,2 great grandchildren, and countless nephews, nieces, and cousins.
As you may know, Lois did not like flowers at funerals and instead asks that donations be made to Interfaith Ministries of Wichita Falls, 1101 11th St, Wichita Falls, TX 76301 or Trinity Lutheran Church of Wichita Falls, 3505 Kemp Blvd., Wichita Falls, TX 76308 or Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Rd, Wichita Falls, TX 76310.
Pallbearers will be her Grandsons, Matthew Baker, Mitchell Baker, Tanner Kitchens, Noah Kitchens, and Hayden Grandy and Honorary Pallbearer, Great Grandson Alex Darnay.
